The bridge on Hinckley Road, notorious as a blackspot for HGV vehicle strikes and consequent traffic problems, will be removed as part of Conservative County Council plans to improve highways in the area.


Local County Councillor and leading Cabinet Member, Cllr Jeff Clarke, has long campaigned on the County Council for a resolution to this issue and is now pleased to report that with Central Government funding along with County Council support, this issue will finally be resolved.

Living Wage helps 300,000 out of low pay

The number of workers on low pay in the UK has fallen by more than 300,000 following the Conservatives’ introduction of the national living wage, a think tank says.
