Nuneaton MP, Marcus Jones, has today made it clear he is opposed to any increase in MPs pay. Commenting on the proposals Marcus said: "In 2009 Parliament handed over the setting of MPs pay and conditions to this independent organisation, IPSA. I fully agree that MPs should not set their own terms, but IPSA are so wide of the mark with what they are proposing.
However they think you can justify this sort of increase, when peoples incomes and living standards have been squeezed for 5 or 6 years is beyond me. I will write into the consultation opposing the increase.”
